Unit description
Cloud computing offers organisations a multitude of benefits including cost savings, fast deployment, global access, flexibility in service provisioning and improved business processess. However, there are a variety of information security risks that need to be carefully considered. In this unit, students will learn a broad set of policies, technologies, and security mechanisms deployed to protect data, applications, and the associated infrastructure of cloud computing. Students will analyse the common security risks that an organization may have when it migrates its infrastructure to the cloud. Students will be asked to deal with data residency, data privacy and industry & regulation compliance. Both basic and advanced technologies of cloud security will be introduced in this unit, such as cloud firewall, security group, Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), etc.
