Unit description
Cloud computing has revolutionised applications in IT, education, business and many other fields. In recent years, many government agencies and business enterprises have started to migrate their physical infrastructure to cloud-based virtual infrastructure, in an effort to leverage the benefits of the agile, scalable and flexible cloud platform and infrastructure. While cloud computing promises many attracting benefits, migration to the cloud is by no means a hassle-free journey. There are many challenges related to cloud migration and integration. This unit explores opportunities and challenges of the transition to cloud computing. It is designed to enhance students’ understanding of the core concepts and technologies of cloud computing. Topics covered in this unit include (but not limited to) cloud migration approach, cloud migration tools, and cloud migration best practice. Upon completion of this unit, students will acquire skills and techniques that are needed in cloud migration and application integration.
